Practice Focus

Dr. Patrick R. Koren is of counsel to our law firm. He is a Registered Patent Attorney before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Dr. Koren’s works closely with clients in a wide range of technologies:

  • Computer Science (programming in C/C++, assembly language, Fortran, UNIX, embedded operating systems, real time programming, preemptive multithreading and synchronization, windows application programming, device drivers, embedded I/O, Linux device drivers, Windows automation, and interfacing RAID's (redundant array of independent disks)
  • Applied Mathematics (simultaneous systems of non-linear equations, differential equations, linear algebra, group theory applications, truncation of infinite series representations, Fourier series and analysis, functional derivatives, orthonormal functions, discrete mathematics, and non-Euclidean geometries)

  • Telecommunication & Electrical Engineering ((digital electronics, microprocessors, embedded systems, systems engineering, avionics systems, custom designed development and testing tools, radio signal tracking, phase-locked loops, spread spectrum radio, forward error correction, data correlation, Kalman filter tracking, and digital signal processing, and robotics)

Dr. Koren has a passion for science and engineering and received in- depth formal education in mathematics, computer, physics and chemistry. His industrial experience as an engineer in radar systems, avionics, GPS system provides him with further understanding of both hardware and software components of these cutting edge technologies.

Therefore, Dr. Koren is well suited to combine his technical knowledge and practical intuition when preparing and prosecuting patent applications related to telecommunication, information technology, and electrical engineering. His success in assisting applicants, together with his friendly temperament, makes him a favorite person among his clients and colleagues.

Dr. Koren appreciates family time with his wife and their daughter. He also enjoys cooking, sailing, and gardening, while he is fine-tuning his skills as a self-taught tailor.
